01Who we are
Editraa ("Editraa", "we", "us") is a video editing studio that edits short-form and long-form videos for creators, brands and businesses. We operate this website and are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
You can reach us at team.editraa@gmail.com for anything to do with your privacy — questions, access or deletion requests, or complaints.
02What this policy covers
This policy applies to this website, and to the information you share with us when you enquire about, commission or receive a video editing project — whether by WhatsApp, email, Instagram or any other channel.
It should be read together with our Terms of Service, Payment & Revision Policy and Cookie Policy.
03Information we collect
We collect only what we need to talk to you and to do the work.
- Contact details: the name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address or social handle you message us from, and anything you choose to tell us about yourself or your business.
- Messages: whatever you send us by WhatsApp, email or Instagram, and our replies. Those messages travel through WhatsApp, your email provider and Instagram, which are run by their own companies under their own privacy policies.
- Project materials: the footage, audio, scripts, brand assets, music and references you send so we can edit your video. These may contain personal information about you or other people who appear or are heard in them.
- Business records: quotes, invoices, approvals and delivery records for work we have done for you.
- Payment details: this website does not take payments and does not collect card or bank details. Payments are made outside the site using the method stated on your invoice, and are handled by your bank or the payment provider you use. We keep a record that a payment was made, not your card number.
- Technical data: standard server logs kept by our hosting provider (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) used for security and reliability.
05How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry and discuss your project.
- Prepare a quote, edit your video, share previews and deliver final files.
- Send invoices, record payments and keep the business and tax records the law requires.
- Keep our systems secure and prevent abuse of the website.
- Improve how we work — for example, noting a client's style preferences so the next project is faster.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
06Why we are allowed to (legal bases)
Where privacy law requires a legal basis for using personal information, ours are: performing, or preparing to perform, a contract with you; your consent (for example, when you choose to send us a brief or give us permission to feature your project); our legitimate interest in running and securing a small business; and compliance with legal obligations.
Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before.
07What we do not do
To be clear about the things people reasonably worry about:
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
- We do not add you to a marketing list because you sent a brief or asked for a quote.
- We do not use your footage, name, logo or results in our portfolio, website or social media without your permission.
- We do not use your footage to train or improve any AI model, and we do not upload it to public services.
- We do not share your project with anyone outside the people and providers described below.
09Your footage and project files
Footage and files you send are treated as confidential. We access them through private links, and we remove access when a project closes.
You must have the right to give us the material you send (see our Terms of Service and Copyright & Content policy). If your footage shows other people, you are responsible for having any consent needed for us to edit it for you.
We are happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement at no extra cost — just ask before sending anything sensitive.
Source footage and project files are kept for a limited period after delivery so we can handle follow-up requests and revisions, then deleted. Tell us if you want them deleted sooner.
10International transfers
We work with clients worldwide, and the tools and providers we use may store or process information in other countries, including countries whose data-protection rules differ from yours.
Where we transfer personal information across borders, we do so as permitted by the law that applies and take reasonable steps to keep it protected.
11How long we keep information
Enquiries that don't become projects are kept for a reasonable time in case you come back, then deleted.
Project footage and working files are deleted after the follow-up period described above.
Quotes, invoices and payment records are kept for as long as accounting, tax and other laws require.
Any information may be kept longer where needed to resolve a dispute or comply with the law. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will unless we are legally required to keep it.
12How we protect information
We use private sharing links, limit access to the people who need it, remove access when work ends and rely on providers that use encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable care and will tell you promptly if a breach affecting your information occurs, as the law requires.
13Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the GDPR or UK GDPR for people in Europe and the UK — you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Have inaccurate information corrected or incomplete information completed.
- Have your information erased, subject to legal record-keeping duties.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your information.
- Withdraw consent you have given.
- Receive your information in a portable format.
- Nominate someone to exercise your rights on your behalf, where the law provides for it.
- Complain to the data-protection authority in your country if you think we have handled your information wrongly.
14How to exercise your rights and reach our grievance contact
Email team.editraa@gmail.com with what you want us to do. We may ask you to confirm who you are before acting, to protect your information from someone pretending to be you. We aim to respond promptly and within the time required by applicable law.
Editraa acts as its own grievance contact for privacy matters. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can escalate to the relevant data-protection authority.
15Children
Our website and services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
16Links to other sites
This site links to places we do not control, such as Instagram and WhatsApp. Their privacy practices are their own; please read their policies before sharing information there.
17Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version, and material changes will be highlighted on this page. Continuing to use the site or our services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
